Thank you for visiting our website. This is the Home page of some of the most loving cats in the world. We invite you to view our Ragdolls.
ClockworkCatz is a registered cattery with TICA and CFA. We are located in North East Georgia, proximal to Clemson, S.C. We raise robust, beautiful Ragdoll kittens which we place into select homes by written contract. Our kittens are floppy, funny, fabulous and we are pleased to say well socialized from birth. If you would like further information regarding one of our luxury Ragdoll kittens, drop us a line at clockworkcatz1@yahoo.com ClockworkCatz is in keeping with ethical standards set forth by The International Cat Association (TICA) and Cat Fancier’s Association (CFA). We enjoy membership in the Southeast Region to many professional Ragdoll associations and clubs. More importantly we love that our kittens are loved =^,,^=

Allow me to introduce a kitten from our first litter “ClockworkCatz Quantum Leap” affectionately known as “Cubby” . This handsome fellow began showing at 14 weeks old and by 7 months old, he had garnered several finals. In fact at every show we entered him in, he placed in the ribbons. He triumphantly was the Best Ragdoll Kitten and the Best Long Haired Kitten at the South East TICA Regional Show 2010. At that same show he went 3rd Best of Show with a field of 64 kittens of all breeds, both long and short haired. At 8 months he began showing as an alter in Florida, and earned his Champion title at his first show in the alter division. Cubby is a handsome prince and my pet. He loves to romp and play and comes running at full speed when I call his name. Most of the time he vocalizes in low sweet murmurs, but when Cubby wants his way he has a big meow.

RAGDOLLS are gentle creatures.
Physically they tend to be large, well muscled and proportioned without any extreme features. Though perhaps one could say that their coat is extremely soft, much like a bunny’s fur. Traditionally they have pointed coloration, with a dark mask, ears and tail; they also have a saddle which may be lighter in the shade of their point color. The head of the Ragdoll is described as a broad modified wedge with slightly rounded contours and having a flat plane between the ears. Their eyes are blue, large oval or almond in shape, not slanted like Siamese or walnut shaped like Persians. Ragdolls have solid heavy boning, fuzzy britches, and feather tufted silky paws. The profile of the heads is described as a gentle curve with a straight last segment at the nose, and their chin is strong but in line with their nose and upper lip. A heavy ruff is desired. They have substantially long and full rectangular bodies, not cobby or round like a ball, but with the hind legs slightly higher than the front. Their tail is to be equal in length to their back and carried at an angle higher than their backs. Their coats are semi-long, very plush with silky guard hairs which is a non-matting texture. Relatively Ragdolls require less grooming. They do however enjoy brushing and attention which strengthens the bond between you and your pet. Good hygiene and nutrition are important and thus shows thru in a well kept Ragdoll with a luxurious coat.

RAGDOLLS grow to their full size, weight, and color maturing at 4 years of age. Altered males can weigh as much as 22+ lbs, females are proportionately smaller. The kittens’ of Clockwork are topping the scales at 18 1/2 lbs at at 20 months, how big they will get I can only venture to say their great grandfather weighed 24 pounds. There are 5 traditional point colors, these are: seal, blue chocolate, lilac and flame. There are 5 overlay patterns, these are: colorpoint, mitted, bi color, lynx and tortie. The white spotting factor gene is responsible for the varying amounts of white that determines the mitted and bi color groups. Ragdolls of the bi color and mitted divisions should have white bellies. The white, or lack there of will often distinguish the eligibility of a kitten for show. While it’s true we love showing our kittens, ultimately we raise our them to be loved. Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder. Some of our kittens are simply adorable because of their unique markings others perfect for show. We offer kittens in accordance to the Ragdoll breed standards set forth by the largest cat registries’ in the world, namely TICA and CFA. With every kitten we give a 5 generation pedigree. We assure that each of our kittens does receive the finest care from the moment of birth, they continue to be nurtured by hand with patience and raised within the pride in our home, never caged or crated except for transport to the vet’s office or for their own safety and comfort while at show. Size, conformation, color, and character are all factors of how we determine if a kitten is a luxury show pet or a luxury home pet.

RAGDOLLS In regard as to the success of pairing the right kitten to the right home. Ragdolls adapt well in gentle homes and sometimes very active homes with children. Much of our success has been through word-of-mouth referrals and from shows. I enjoy meeting new folks looking to add to their family a lovable pet. Ragdolls aren’t as independent as most other breeds of cats. Specifically Ragdolls are bred to be companions and are loyal to their humans. Ragdolls share an intimacy with those they love and often follow them from room to room. Ours come when we call their names, and they most famously play fetch. It’s a known fact that people who have a cat as a pet, live longer; They seem to be good a relieving stress and provide hours of comic relief.
RAGDOLLS people wonder if they shed? We can honestly say not as much as other long haired breeds, but yes they do shed, seasonally more toward the warmer months and all cats shed when under stress; for instance they will pick up on your nervousness at the vet’s office while surrounded by strange smells. Because Ragdoll coats are more like bunny fur, rather than stiff strait hair it tends not to be a problem. Our kittens coats are luxuriously soft, softer than sable or fox and their coats stay soft throughout their lives. Our primary concern is that they will continue to be pampered and only light brushing is required. Our kittens and cats are bathed about 4 times a year (that’s every 3 months). Before your kitten arrives to your home we will have given it a show bath, a fluffy brushing, and trimmed it’s nails. You will not be able to resist wanting to hold our kittens. Our kittens go to their new home with a few things, sometimes a blanket has a familiar scent that will be reassuring until they get to explore and feel accustom to all the sights, smells, and sounds of their new home, or a favorite toy.
RAGDOLLS grow very slow, as with any kitten the biggest growth is seen in the first year. That is why it’s vital that they be fed high quality foods. These foods have the first ingredient as meat (lamb, turkey, chicken, salmon, beef, tuna) on the label. Food after all is how they get nutrients to grow and retain their beauty. Our Ragdolls also receive a few drops of wild salmon oil in their food which keeps their digestive system balanced. Keep your kitten on a schedule when you offer wet foods at night or day. The same time every day creates a routine and all domestic animals need to have a routine with boundaries, and amble space with pure sun light. According to our policy dry food and water are to be kept in front of your kitten 24 / 7. At first you will need to purchase two galleons of bottled water even if you have a filtration system in your home. This is to provide your kitten with clean quantities of hydration without making them sick. Understanding that regionally water is different and it’s much easier to prevent dehydration from diarrhea than it is to cure it. So it’s important for you to ensure this to avoid a stressful situation. If traveling long distance, Gerber baby food provides 100 cal per jar, and serves as both nutrition and moisture.

RAGDOLL kittens need reassurance, after all they are bred to be companion cats, so I offer guided instruction on how to introduce our Ragdoll kittens to other members of your family, children and pets. There are a few primary things you will need to buy before your kitten arrives home: a NEW large litter box with a scoop (his or her own potty not one shared with another cat or one that another cat has used), swheat scoop litter; it’s all natural non toxic and they must without exception be on this litter because they are healing from their spay / neuter, and we don’t want them to develop infection or impaction from clay-based litters. a large scratching post or cat tree with a scratching post; non-porous flat glass or ceramic feeding vessels which allow their whiskers to not touch the sides; this is because cats use their whiskers as a type of “vibration sonar” and their whiskers are sensitive.
RAGDOLL accessories: I recommend a large soft carrier that will serve to be a kitty cat cave which they can go to into without being fussed at. The carrier is for the kittens’ safety, and you will use it to take the kitten to your vet within 4 days of their arrival. I will supply you with a small portion of the same dry food as the kitten has been eating; and a couple of cans of wet kitten food to get you started. Your kitten should stay on this same brand of food for one full year. We do recommend bottled water (this eliminates them having the pains of tummy trouble do to the mineral content in tap water). We offer to meet you at PetSmart to help with your selections or send you links to products we think are useful. We want to make caring for your kitten economically feasible, but of course you’ll want to buy toys, heck yeah we love play time. But be thinking of an activity toy or cat tree furniture, something that will last and they will get more benefit from long term. I offer one full year supply of Revolution, (anti-flea, anti-tick, anti-worm medication) for much less money than it can be bought over the counter. It is dispensed from our veterinarian. In an effort to give your kitten a long, healthy life. As part of the ClockworkCatz kitten package I will give you the kittens’ tags on a new collar or harness with a bell.
Your kitten will need a follow up for it’s annual vaccinations; when we give you their health records make a copy of them and hand the copy to the vet assistant at the first visit. We will check with your vet as part of our contractual agreement so you must provide us the details of how to contact his office and the time/date of your scheduled appointment.
Okay, so we want you to think of how you felt on your first day at school. The kitten will need to be given an opportunity to relax, to sleep and to play without threat. We recommend you have one room set up and the door kept closed to the rest of your home for at least the first 48 hours. This gives you a chance to watch and admire your new baby. Under your watchful eye the kitten needs to become aware of your voice and touch so he or she can feel relatively safe. The more you play, gently touch and release the more your kitten will belong to you. The more you try to smother the kitten the less it will like being held, but do carry it from room to room and familiarize it with areas of your home that it will be allowed to roam.
It will take a time for the kitten to feel right about another cat or dog, even though your other pets may want to be friendly. EVEN thought you TRUST your other pets, please don’t pressure the kitten, allow him or her to a bond of trust with you. Eventually over months of supervised interactions some of our kittens’ have grown to their new found furry friends without trauma. The only aversion training I do is with a water spray bottle; one squirt and a firm “no” is enough to keep your kitten away from the stove, off the counters and tables. My kitten’s have never known a heavy hand, do not scold them with your hands they will not understand nor come to trust you. Do not force them, but allow them to curiously seek you out. I will provide a calming collar which has feline facial pheromones if the kitten is on a scheduled flight to it’s new home. The collars have pleasurable scents to a kitty, something like how you might feel if you walk into a room full of vanilla candles. I also sew cat nip and treats and soft toys to a comfort mat which I place in the kitten’s flight crate. On top are both wet and dry food and bottled water, and taped securely is the kitten’s Inter State Health Certificate. Plus other important contact information... arrangements and fees for flights must be made in advance. Atlanta or Greenville/Spartanburg are the airports my kittens’ fly from.
RAGDOLL kittens are floor dwellers, though they may lounge in a cat tree, barrel over a chair, or sit to look out a window. We use products called Yuck or Bitter Apple on our computer and phone wires to eliminate tangles in cords or shock. The only aversion training we do is with a water spray bottle. Never strike a cat, they will not forget it and they will not love you for it. Instead use the same verbal command like “No” or “Down” and place them on the ground, if they persist give them a squirt of water. This is how we keep them safely away from the stove and off our dinning table. Praise your kitten for it’s good behavior too.
Do not allow your kitten to come in contact with feral or un-vetted cats or dogs as they can suffer injury and increases the risk of contracting diseases and parasites. DO not over vaccinate with “live viruses”.
Make certain you have a bottle of alcohol based hand cleaner, ask others who want to pet your kitty to wash their hands. A kitten isn’t a puppy but does teethe, relax your hand and it will lick you. If you have a question I would be happy to give you an answer based on what has worked for me, or will refer the question to our vet. I maintain good relationships with our extended ClockworkCatz family enjoy receiving updates. My love of catz is heartfelt and I want you to be happy with your new kitty. Keep the lines of communication open. I want each of my kittens to have a long and happy life. Please see other policies on our AVAILABLE KITTEN PAGE =^,,^= Thanks!

I sincerely hope you will email me. Allow me to get to know the dynamics of your lifestyle and family. This will allow me to place a kitten that is right for your home. All are lovable, some are more outgoing and others prefer less chaos. I ask you to look with your heart. My kittens are wonderfully cute and I do handle them, play with them and love them until that special person comes along. I am not a large breeder and I do not offer Ragdolls in rainbow colors. But with my breeding pair I do offer, chocolate or seal bi colored kittens. My plans are to keep my cattery small and manageable. In the near future I will retire “Pearlie” my lovely queen. At this time I am seeking a blue bicolor, or chocolate bicolor (lynx preferred) of show / breed quality. *Must be genetically tested, negative for all feline disease, blood type A-, and -/- HCM.
